This thread reminds me of a Doo-Wop site I came across a few months back. Loads of MP3 rarities to download for free.

Good god! a legal threat from Bertha Tillman! Never heard of her.

    Lightbulb

Doo-wop is pretty much dying out as even a fanatic thing, as the "Oldies" stations don't play it anymore and that was a large part of its connection to its fans. They are too busy playing garbage from the early 1970s that no one liked even then, such as "Daisy a Day" by Jud Strunk. Pathetic! Also, the re-invention of "RnB" as ipso facto music played/sung by black folks is even worse, because it allows those horrible Star-Search "singers" to be included in the category. Those people just cannot sing!

I blame Mariah Carey as well. Mariah has a 5-octave range, but wastes it doing scales and what I call "vocal shreds", meaning she sings 1/64th notes just to do it. Now, she does hip-hop(yuk)and thinks she's some sort of ghettofabulous ho. How pathetic!

Bertha Tillman? I've heard of her. Her stage name is Bertha D'Blues and she does Newport every year!!
